Glow Rejuvenating Body Elixir - Nourishing, Natural, Light and Luxe

The Rejuvenating Body Elixir is a 100% natural, fast-absorbing nourishing, antioxidant, and botanical-rich oil. It locks in moisture, relieves rough, dry skin for a softer, smoother, healthier-looking you.

I always have a version of this in my bathroom. It's the product I have been making the longest. It took me a while to land on this formula because I was focused on using whole fixed oils. The formula was perfected when I added fractionated coconut oil -- a game-changer, as they say.

The Botanical Oils

Fractionated coconut oil, unlike virgin coconut oil, stays in liquid form. It consists mainly of caprylic and capric acids. The lauric acid, which makes coconut oil hard at certain temperatures, has been removed. The addition lightened up the oil and allowed deeper penetration into the skin while leaving a silky, non-greasy feel. It is one of the reasons the Rejuvevating Skin Elixir is also an excellent massage oil.

I paired the fractionated coconut oil with a mix of luxe, nourishing oils to calm, soothe, and lock in moisture. Jojoba, Sunflower, Hemp Oil, Olive, Grapeseed, and Argan oils add a mix of vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids to maintain a healthy skin barrier.

Oil-based products such as the Nichole Avonie Rejuvenating Body Elixir work best when added to damp skin. Applying the Body Elixir to damp skin helps lock the water into your skin to maintain a healthy moisture balance. Adding it to dry skin reduces its effectiveness as it will sit on top of your skin, making you look greasy but not feel moisturized.

The Scent

I'm not a big fan of flowery scents or body care products with overpowering fragrances. So scenting with tiny amounts of essential oils was a no-brainer. The signature Nichole Avonie fragrance is unisex. The total percentage of essential oils in the Rejuvenating Body Elixir is less than 2%.

I started with Geranium, a bit of a sweet floral balanced out with a kind of earthy herbaceousness. I added the tiniest bit of Marjoram (it's in the thyme family) to punch up the herbaceousness without overpowering Geranium's floral nature. Adding Bergamot, Lavender, Lemongrass, Turmeric, and Lemon to the mix helped to create something I think is truly unique. There are no artificial stabilizers, so the scent might change over time -- it depends on how quickly you use the oil and how it is stored.

Storing Your Nichole Avonie Body Elixir

All Nichole Avonie products are made in small batches, so they are super fresh when you get them. This is one way to cut down on stabilizers and preservatives. The Rejuvenating Body elixir should retain its aroma and effectiveness up to eight months after being opened. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct light.

How to Use:

Warm between hands and apply liberally to damp skin after shower or bath. For even softer, smoother skin, start with the Nichole Avonie Exfoliating Body Cleanser (sold separately or as a duo)

If you have dry, or extra dry skin, or live in an environment where the air is extremely dry, apply it as the final step after a water-based cream or lotion.

Nichole Avonie Body Elixir is also excellent as a massage oil.

*Now available in Fallen Rose scent.
